Short reflections on the connection between Nature and Spirituality that can be used in our daily lives. |
a MONTH at a glance... |
2024 05-05, 6036 - A VERY SPECIAL SMELL – As I record this message, I am grateful for the container of mayflowers on the kitchen windowsill. The smell is one of my favorites, and I find myself leaning over the sink often to experience it. You see, I will not experience this wonderful aroma after it is gone until next year.

2024 05-04, 6035 - IT’S GOING TO BE A BIG YEAR FOR THE ORMOND GARDENS – Derek has already spent several days here preparing the gardens and grounds for more planting and expansion. I marvel at his work, and I know his acts of kindness are and will provide peace and pleasure to those that visit. We all have a purpose.

2024 05-03, 6034 - A SPECIAL RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS – When I was a kid, the month of May meant May baskets. A time to catch a friend unaware and “hang” a basket full of candy, and when everyone was caught, they all would eat the treats. On May 1st, when I left the Center, there was a special May basket waiting. What a feeling of love! Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 05-02, 6033 - REPAIRING A WALL – Most people have repaired some sort of walls in their life, whether in their home or their yard. I watched two women carry supplies to the top of a tall sea wall and climb down a ladder to repair the erosion at the bottom caused by storms. People often put walls around themselves that constantly need repair.

2024 05-01, 6032 - THE IMPORTANCE OF A WELL-PLACED BENCH – I am grateful for finding a well-placed bench, on the Center’s land or wherever we go. A bench is a place to pause and rest and take a moment to communicate with one’s Source. I am refreshed there. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 04-30, 6031 – REWARD FOR WAKING UP EARLY - We had been waiting all winter for our weekend trip to the ocean. I left the shade partly open the first night and I awoke at 5 am to a red glow. It only lasted a couple of minutes, but the energy sustained me the whole day. It was worth the trip.

2024 04-29, 6030 - DECORATING A STUMP – We have an old stump at the top of the Lupine Field that is decorated with items for the fairies, and there is one at the Center covered with small rocks. People love to decorate places, as well as themselves, often with the goal of bringing happiness for a moment to others.

2024 04-28, 6029 - THE YELLOW PHASE OF SPRING – We are now in what I call the yellow phase of spring. The daffodils and forsythia are in full bloom. As they fade, other colors will take over, along with blackflies. Life has many different phases and each teaches us how to stay in tune with our soul’s purpose.

2024 04-27, 6028 - STILL BEAUTIFUL PAST THEIR PRIME – When the pussy willow blossoms go to seed, they look very different from their earlier fuzzy blooms, but they are still beautiful. Older people are often thought to be past their prime, but they have beautiful wisdom to share.

2024 04-26, 6027 -ON THE SUNNY SIDE OF THE WALL – It has taken a while, but I finally discovered a bunch of full-size daffodils in bloom that were on the sunny side of a stone wall and not the bunch I had been waiting to flower. Each moment that gives us something to discover in life.

2024 04-25, 6026 -ANOTHER MEMORY FROM THE PAST – As a young child, my mother used to make me checkerberry tea, especially if I wasn’t feeling well. I used to love to pick the tasty berries that grew near our house. We have checkerberries growing on the mountain, and love comes flooding back when I see them.

W2024 04-24, 6025 - WINTER REPAIRS – It looks like we are not going to be hit by another major snowstorm. It is time to start repairing the land for the summer. My son used our tractor to grade and smooth the parking lot at the Center. There is always something to repair in life all year long.

2024 04-23, 6024 - MAYFLOWERS – We have found the first small mayflowers of the season. As they mature, I will pick a handful and place them in a glass of water on the windowsill in the kitchen where I can pause and take in their delicate smell. Doing this, my heart fills with gratitude for another day of reflecting love.

2024 04-22, 6023 - A GLIMMER OF HOPE – On a recent visit to the Lupine Field, I spotted tiny lupine plants starting their journey to producing beautiful flowers in June. No matter what time of year, if we search with gratitude, we usually find something to provide us with a glimmer of hope. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 04-21, 6022 –WHERE WINTER STILL LIVES – Here in the foothills of the White Mountains it is not uncommon to experience several seasons at the same time. From the Lupine Field I can see where winter still lives on. I am grateful we are free of it for the most part. Gratitude is a good way to look at all seasons of life.

2024 04-20, 6021 - THE SOUND OF PEACE – I heard a bell ringing as I wandered around my yard. I paused a moment and listened as my heart filled with love. It was the bell in the Peace Garden at the Center, not far away. I thought to myself about the major need for peace bell ringers all over the world at this moment.

2024 04-19, 6020 - READY FOR PLAY OR WORK – With the improving weather and loss of snow, we woke up the Cats and did a little grounds work while having fun cruising around. We can think of work as something heavy or we can play while we are getting some work done, while moving at a pace that is right and good for us.

2024 04-18, 6019 - DAY CHANGERS – When I start my day with the intention of finding something I am grateful for, such as the miniature daffodils in full bloom, my heart fills with a love that helps sustain me. A moment like that could even possibly change your life for the better.

2024 04-17, 6018 - WAITING FOR FROGS’ EGGS – The little frog pond waits silently for the green frogs to lay their eggs that float like a cloud on the water. There is so much to discover at this time of year, and all year long. There is always something to cause my heart to sing. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
FINDING THE EVIDENCE – Nature provides a lot of evidence for us that is proof of activity taking place that we may never notice, such as a porcupine eating the bark off a tree. Life provides evidence to those that pay attention for guidance on their walk of life.

2024 04-15, 6016 - A HEART WAITING TO BE SEEN – I am constantly looking for heart signs that indicate to me that I am being supported by incredible guidance from unseen forces which are there for all of us. Lately, I take far more pictures of hearts than I can use in podcasts. I am surrounded by and intend to channel that love for others. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 04-14, 6015 - THE RUSH IS ON – The water is rushing outside my window on its way down the mountain to the ocean. It is a spring wakeup call and a reminder to all of us that it is time to manifest the goals we set during the winter, giving us a fresh view of life.

2024 04-13, 6014 - THE SIGNS ARE GROWING – The signs that spring is finally taking control are growing each day from warmer weather to the small red flowers on the maple trees. We are also receiving signs that it is time to implement those winter dreams into manifested realities. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 04-12, 6013 - TRY, TRY, TRY, AGAIN – The daffodils survived the last snow again and are ready to try once more to bloom. There are people who believe in what they want to accomplish and keep trying until they finally succeed. Nature has a lot to teach us. Click here for the audio podcast recording! |
2024 04-11, 6012 – A BLOOMING SURPRISE – As I checked on the latest recovery of the daffodils, I found two crocus blooming in an old, neglected section of the flower garden that I had not touched in a few years. My heart filled with joy, and I thought of people that are late bloomers. They are a joy to me.

2024 04-10, 6011 – THE LAST ROMP OF THE SEASON – I saw a perfect outline of a snowshoe hair in a left-over patch of snow and I knew it was its last romp of the season before it turned to grass. I love the way Nature gives me the opportunity to romp along with the hare as changes in the season are ushered in.

2024 04-09, 6010 – THE ECLIPSE EXPERIENCE – It was a crystal-clear day and we drove some two and a half hours to our son's home to view the total eclipse of the sun. We watched and took photos as best we could. It was interesting to hear the whole town cheering when totality was achieved. It was a beautiful day.

2024 04-08, 6009 – A ONCE IN A LIFETIME DAY – Today many of us will witness an event we have never seen before in our lifetime, a total eclipse of the sun under favorable conditions. Then again, there are events every day that we may never have experienced before. My goal is to cherish moments that may make a positive difference to others.

2024 04-07, 6008 – SPEECHLESS - For the first time that I can remember, in over 6000 podcasts that I have done, I have no voice today. I thought I would share an excerpt from a recording I did several years ago which captures the sounds of the waves moving the jasper stone on Jasper Beach in Machiasport, Maine. Sometimes silence speaks volumes.

2024 04-06, 6007 - THIS TOO WILL PASS – The last couple of days have been an adventure with two 12-hour power outages with only 4 hours in between. I think of all the people that often feel snowed under by life events. I just thanked my Source and sure enough the power came back as I had trusted it would. 2024 04-05, 6006 - WHO’S THE FOOL – The forecast was for an intense early April snowstorm. I prepared by moving the tractor in position to clear away the piles left by the snowplow. I did not plan for the power to go off for 12 hours causing our inside temperature to drop. Who is the fool here, me or the weather?
