I am sure glad July is over!!! A few days before we left on our wonderful cruise of the Aegean Sea, we had lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. It was June 29th. Something didn’t feel right afterwards, and as I am a healthy eater, I thought the food (including a shredded lettuce salad) didn’t agree with my stomach. By the time we left on the cruise, the effects had continued to grow, and by the time we returned home, I was miserable. Finally, I went to the ER for hydration and tests. Even though the test results from 2 weeks ago have not been received, I was treated for Cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora. I would not wish the experience on anyone! Fortunately, a week after treatment I feel much, much better, and am reintroducing different foods.
I continue to play at the Oak Street Bistro on Saturday nights in Alfred, Maine from 5:30-8:30, and the Center will host “Music in the Woods” on August 20th from 6-7:30 pm with Jill Ohlson and her band Pigs Eye.
